『大婚二十五年奉祝景況圖 第一圖「宮城二重橋」』 明治２７年作 宮内庁三の丸尚蔵館所蔵
同じく洋画家の高橋由一の息子です。初め父である高橋由一に、その後工部美術学校に入学しフォンタネージの指導を受けました。
明治２２年明治美術会の創立に参加するとともに、明治美術会の設立した明治美術学校で教師として指導にあたりました。明治美術会の解散後は各地を放浪して画壇との交流を断ちました。
